I talked in my previous post about how I was trying out the new Marie Kondo method of folding my clothes as well as my approach to de-cluttering. This method is time-consuming the first time but surprisingly easy to upkeep. For me, the main difference between the old way I used to fold my clothes and the new way, is only a couple of folds! It is absolutely worth it compared to the enormous amount of satisfaction that I get when I open a drawer. Not to mention how easy it is to see every single thing that you own, at one glance!
An Active Wear Obsession
This client that I organized for is just slightly obsessed with workout clothes. She is a Zumba Instructor and her favorite thing to do next to Zumba is shop for workout clothes! 😉
Using Drawer Dividers to your Advantage
As I was organizing for this client, she asked her husband if he wanted his clothes folded this way and he respectfully declined. She told me the next day that he had changed his mind! I knew it was a matter of time before he came around…I mean come on, what’s not to love! The drawer dividers that I used in these drawers are from Ikea. They make all of the difference in the world, especially if you don’t have enough of one type of item to fill the depth of the drawer. The material of workout clothes makes it particularly difficult to keep things nice and folded without drawer dividers because the fabric is so slippery and pliable, so they fall much easier.
Not all of us can have the luxury of built-in dressers in our closets. But achieving organization is possible for us all! All it takes is a bit of decluttering, some time, and a system. Good luck!
