How to Make Your House Smell Like Cookies

Have you ever walked into someone’s home and thought to yourself, “Do they know that their house stinks?!” Most of the time all of our homes naturally have some sort of ‘smell’. Whether you live in an older home, or if it’s humid where you live, if you have pets, or even if you have stinky teenagers! I have created some easy stovetop (or mini crockpot) recipes to cover up those stinky smells so you don’t have to worry about if your house stinks or not! And what better smell is there than cookies?!

We discovered about a year ago that my husband was getting headaches from the Bath and Body Works Wallflowers I was using in our home. So I have been on the hunt for alternative options that won’t give him a headache. There are tons of recipes out there for stovetop potpourri but they are usually Christmasy. So I was looking for some variety and decided to create a few of my own.

How To Cook

These recipes can be ‘cooked’ in 2 different ways. You can either put them in a small pot on the stove, or you can use one of those little Mini Crockpots. The mini crockpot is my preferred method because you can leave it for a few hours and it won’t burn. I have forgotten to check on stovetop potpourri in the past and totally burned it! It created a yucky burned smell all over my house, which was the opposite of my goal. But both work, you just have to keep an eye on the stovetop method.

The best thing about these recipes is that you probably have most of these ingredients already in your kitchen! You don’t have to worry about breathing in harmful chemicals or getting headaches. These ingredients are just natural baking products!

They are so easy to make because they are ingredients you already have in your cupboard, it is inexpensive, and you don’t have to worry about harmful ingredients! Happy smelling!
