The Best Cleaning Tools to Clean the Bathroom

There’s nothing worse than a dirty bathroom. The smells, the grime, the messes – it can all be quite overwhelming. But don’t worry, I’m here to help!

To get a nice, clean bathroom, you want to use the right tools. While you can probably clean your bathroom without certain items, having good cleaning products and tools can make the job so much easier. Not to mention, it will be a lot faster too!

In this post, I’m going to recommend the best cleaning tools to use when cleaning the bathroom. From scrubbing the shower to wiping down the toilet, these tools will make short work of any dirt and bacteria in your bathroom!

My Favorite Cleaning Tools for the Bathroom

There are lots of cleaning tools out there, so when you’re trying to find the right ones for your bathroom (or anywhere in your house), it can be hard to find the perfect cleaning solution for you.

That’s why I’ve compiled my favorite tools and cleaning products that I love using in my bathroom.

Cleaning Tools for the Shower

Your shower is the place in your home that gets dirty even though it cleans you.

If you have glass shower doors, they can get really streaky or have water spots. If you have tile floors in the shower, they can also get buildup from soap scum.

Your shower can harbor all sorts of germs and bacteria, so it’s important to clean it regularly. The best way to do that is with a good shower cleaner and a few scrubbing tools.

Scrubbing Mop Brush

Your shower walls and floor can get soap scum build-up and carry other germs, so you want to clean them regularly. However, bending over for long periods of time to clean the hard tile floor or reaching up to get the walls can be a real strain.

I love using this scrubbing brush for any stains, germs, or dirt on the walls or showers. It is fantastic for cleaning the bath or the shower without having to break your back!

Slip-On Shower Hose

Speaking of cleaning your shower walls, this slip-on shower hose is perfect for washing cleaner off of your shower walls.

Once you use your cleaning products or cleaning agents on the hard surfaces of your shower, you can just use this hose that slips right onto your shower head. This will help you rinse off that cleaning product without having to wipe the walls down again with water.

Using a hose like this will help minimize splashing or water messes since you can really point the water exactly where you want it. If you don’t have a detachable showerhead, this is a great alternative.

Cleaning Products and Tools for Your Toilet

I don’t know about you, but I hate cleaning the toilet. It’s just one of those things that I don’t like to do. But it has to be done!

To make cleaning the toilet a little less dreadful, I recommend using a pair of nitrile gloves to protect your hands from harsh chemicals, a good toilet cleaner, and a toilet brush. But in addition to a good toilet brush, here are a few other best cleaning products and tools I recommend.

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

Okay, so I know this isn’t groundbreaking information, but if you’re not using Clorox disinfecting wipes on your toilet, you should be.

I love using these for the outside surface of my toilet. It makes cleaning so easy and fast, and I can be sure that the wipes are fully disinfecting my toilet.

I use Clorox wipes for most of my regular cleaning tasks. They are safe to use on nonporous surfaces like glass surfaces, porcelain, stainless steel, varnished wood, and sealed granite. You can also use them in non-food-contact areas. The wipes are definitely a multi-surface cleaner in my house!

I highly recommend grabbing some wipes to use while disinfecting your toilet (and remember you can use them for cleaning stainless steel surfaces, glass surfaces, hardwood floors, and more).

Toilet Tank Cleaner

Cleaning the outside of toilets isn’t fun, and cleaning the inside of toilets can sometimes be even worse. If you have rust in your toilet tank, it can be a real struggle to remove those stubborn stains from rust.

This is MY TOILET!

I love this toilet tank cleaner though! It’s one of my favorite cleaning supplies. Because of its ingredients, it easily removed stains from hard water and rust without you having to sweat up a storm from scrubbing.

It also doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or acids, so you don’t have to worry about it ruining your toilet tank or pipes.

All you have to do is add it directly into the toilet and leave it overnight. It will remove rust stains and dirt while eliminating any bad odors at the same time! I highly recommend this. If your toilet tank is dirty, this works miracles.

Pumice Cleaning Stone

Speaking of stains, how about having to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl?

Most stains should come off with a good scrub brush, but if you have tough stains from hard water, even the best scrubbing brush or all-purpose cleaners won’t help.

I love this pumice cleaning stone because it’s great for getting stains from hard water off of the inside of the toilet bowl. The handle makes it easy to clean your toilet without having to bend down too far.

It will clean up any corrosion, calcium deposits, hard water or rust stains, and it won’t scratch your porcelain or ceramic either. It’s an eco-friendly cleaner too since it’s made completely from pumice without any chemicals. Total non-toxic and safe!

I also like that it has a hole in the handle so I can hang it up when I’m not using it!

Cleaning Tip for Your Toilet

This doesn’t pertain to a cleaning product at all, but one of my favorite tips for cleaning the toilet is when you’re done with the toilet brush, put the dirty toilet brush under the toilet seat. Keep it in between the toilet seat and the rim with the brush side over the toilet.

Then the brush will drip into the toilet and you can put it away once it’s all dry! You won’t have to worry about water accumulating in your scrub brush holder. Try it next time you clean your toilet!

TOILET TOOLS YOU’LL NEED

Multi-Surface Cleaning Tools and Products

If you’re looking for the best cleaning products to wipe up any kind of dirt or mess, or that works on tons of different surfaces in your bathroom, here are some of my favorites.

Calcium, Lime, and Rust Remover

This CLR remover (or calcium, lime, and rust) is amazing for getting rid of hard water stains without any effort AT ALL!

Seriously, it removes all rust, lime, and calcium deposits on stainless steel, counters, sinks, tubs, showers, tile, glass, ceramic, toilets, and basically any surface in the entire home. Plus it makes them nice and shiny! It also doesn’t have chlorine bleach or ammonia, so it’s safe to use around kids and pets.

I put my CLR in a spray bottle so I can apply it easier.

Just mix the remover with warm water, apply it directly to the stain, wait for two minutes, and then wipe it down with a damp microfiber cloth or sponge. Rinse it after with a damp cloth or direct water, but use cold water for best results.

Microfiber Cloths

I love these microfiber cloths for cleaning my bathroom mirrors. Using this microfiber cloth set for glass cleaner has worked really well for me.

All you have to do is clean the glass with the green cloth (the cloth should be damp) and then follow it up with the blue cloth.

It’s super easy and doesn’t leave streaks on your mirrors at all. You don’t even need to use any other glass cleaner – only water and these microfiber cloths! They work just as great as Norwex, but they are WAY cheaper and you don’t have to use cleaner.

SHOP LABELS AND BOTTLES

Steam Mop

I like this steam mop for my bathroom floors because it can clean and sanitize my floors without any harsh chemicals. You can choose from several levels of steam based on what you need to clean, and then just wipe down the floor!

It works on sealed wood floors, ceramic, linoleum, granite, marble, and tile! It’s perfect for the bathroom floor. It works really well for stubborn stains.

Thumb Scraper

The bathroom is full of tiny areas and tight spaces that can be hard to clean. I like using these thumb scrapers to remove any gunk or build-up in the small corners and tight spots around the bottom of the toilet, in the corners of the shower, etc.

This is one of the best cleaning items you can get! You’ll use it everywhere! It’s the best way to get into and clean any tight spots in your home.

UV Black Light

You might be wondering why I’m recommending a UV black light. Well, this UV flashlight can show you exactly where urine or other bodily fluids reside when you turn the lights off and shine the flashlight.

It might sound a little gross, but it’s nice to be able to check if you missed anything. Sometimes you don’t see a stain, but it doesn’t mean it’s not there! It’s one of the best cleaning products you can use to make sure you’re not missing tons of germs or any stains that might not be visible to the eye.

(You can use this on the carpet too, and it’s a great idea if you have any pets!)
